Most people think they have to rip out and redesign their entire control cabinet just to make it work. You don’t. We build our IR lamps to handle those shifts so you can keep moving.
Matching the Voltage (110V to 575V)
Most lamps you’ll find off-the-shelf are locked into a few rigid voltages. We do things differently. We spec our tubes for 110V, 480V, and 575V to fit whatever grid you’re plugged into. Because getting the voltage wrong is a nightmare. If you under-volt, you get cold spots on the glass. If you over-volt? You’ll burn through the filament in a matter of hours. It’s a fast way to kill your productivity. To stop that from happening, we tweak the filament length and diameter. This lets us hit your target wattage regardless of the input voltage, keeping the heat steady across the whole surface of the glass.
Keeping Things Uniform
Getting a flat temperature profile on a massive pane of glass is all about the math—specifically, how much wattage you have per inch. We use high-purity quartz envelopes to make sure the IR transmission is as clean as possible. Depending on how deep you need that heat to soak into the glass, you can go with either shortwave or medium-wave outputs. And we don’t forget the edges. We offer standard and custom end-caps to make sure everything fits snug in your frames. If there’s a gap, you’re leaking heat and throwing money away.
The Trade-offs
If you go with high-voltage setups (like 480V or 575V), the perks are pretty clear. Your wiring can be thinner and you’ll have a lower current draw, which means your electrical runs take up way less space. But there’s a catch. Higher voltage means a higher risk of arc-over if your insulation is sloppy. Just make sure your connectors and wiring are actually rated for the lamp’s voltage. Nobody wants a short circuit to tank a production run right in the middle of a shift.
