The goal is to hit the adhesive with a burst of intense, focused heat in milliseconds, setting the bond before the glass even knows what hit it. All while keeping the delicate Low-E coating completely untouched. The trick? Keeping oxygen away from that film layer as the glass moves through the line.
The Power Behind the Speed
Here’s the thing about this lamp: it’s all about heat density. It runs on 400V, which lets us pack a serious punch into a compact tube. We’re talking 2500W of power, focused into just a 300mm length. That gives you a tight thermal footprint that lines up perfectly with the adhesive bead. It’s direct, focused energy. The response is practically instant—so you can keep up with your line speed without waiting around for the system to heat up.
What It’s Made Of
Inside, the halogen element sits snug in a quartz envelope. This thing is built to handle rapid heating and cooling, and it keeps the output steady, shift after shift. The quartz also has a special anti-reflective coating. It pushes more IR energy onto the target and cuts down on wasted light. And for installation? We went with the R7s base. It gives you solid mechanical support and a reliable electrical connection, so it drops right in as a replacement in most curing setups.
Why It Works for Low-E Glass
When you’re working with Low-E glass, that coating is sensitive. Expose it to high heat and oxygen, and you’re asking for trouble. Our lamp uses shortwave IR that cuts straight through the adhesive, triggering the cure in a flash. That means the film spends less time in the hot zone, which lowers the risk of oxidation and keeps the Low-E layer intact. Now, with 2500W packed into a 300mm tube, there’s a trade-off. The surrounding equipment needs proper cooling and shielding to handle the ambient heat.
